NYC in the Snow

NYC in the Snow

I love New York City. There is a real sense of community there, especially on snow days. I was lucky to be there when all the transportation was shut down as they were expecting a blizzard. Lucky, because I was one of the last flights to land and  it was not nearly as bad as people were expecting.

I got up early before the city was awake and the snow was fresh and went exploring with my camera . I walked across the Manhattan Bridge. The roads were shut down for cars and lower Manhattan was nearly deserted. It was magical.

I walked all the way uptown to Central Park. Along the way I got offered free tickets to see the “Late Show with David Letterman” for that afternoon since a lot people had to cancel. This was soon before his retirement, and something I always wanted to do, and I was thrilled to be able to bring my old roommate and best friend along.
